Located on the southern banks of Australia's Brisbane River, is Brisbane South Bank Parklands. A popular destination for tourists and locals alike, it is packed full of fun things to do and see for all the family.

Some of the many South Bank attractions include a crystal clear swimming lagoon on the sandy South Bank Beach, picturesque gardens, playgrounds and with free movies at the Suncorp Superscreen during the school holidays, you can't go past South Bank for kids entertainment.

South Bank Streets Beach is lifeguard patrolled 7 days a week from early till late during summer and throughout most of the day during winter. It has a crystal clear swimming lagoon with shallow wading areas for young children and sandy beaches for mums and dads to relax on.

If you're after something a little more active, why not hire a bike or rollerblades and enjoy a sunny afternoon exploring Brisbane City. You can cycle along the boardwalk towards the Kangaroo Point Cliffs or over the Goodwill Bridge to the picturesque Botanic Gardens.

Or, if you prefer a more leisurely experience, take a stroll through the magnificently decorated Bougainvillea Arbour or past the beautifully landscaped gardens.

Then, enjoy lunch at one of Brisbane's picnic spots or eat at one of the many alfresco restaurants overlooking the river and CBD.

Check out a world-class theatre production at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), appreciate fine art at the QLD Art Gallery, or step back in time and visit the Museum.
